Hi everyone,
This mucus is from a 5 yr old child’s mouth… picture taken under the microscope… Are there any medical professionals out there who might recognize this? Is this candida?

PS: yes, the kid is seeing a doctor but lab results won’t be available for days. So please don’t bother advising to see a doctor!

Thank you for your comment… still no lab result.
I did some research in the meantime and found that Candida can convert from its normal budding form to its mycelial (hyphal) form in which the cells are elongated and attached at the ends, allowing it to grow into different areas. Unfortunately I could not find a good photo of this on-line to make a comparison.
it doesn’t look like candida to me
it would be budding and not perfectly formed and filamentous like your picture shows.
i am curious to know what it is though
